Delicious

I am taking part in a Photo a day challenge for June 2016.
The prompt for the 22nd of June is 'Delicious' and the above is my picture for the prompt.

This #Delicious man is my #Husband. Enough said.
:)))))

Since I haven't been writing/blogging at all, and I REALLY want to I thought I would use the prompts to attempt to write short stories too.
Below is my story for the prompt,

Delicious

‘You don’t concentrate enough, Miss Mehta!’
‘Why is your head always in the clouds?’
‘What’s the use of blocking a seat when you know you’re never gong to use this knowledge, Madhuri!’
‘Rich kids like you never value education!’
‘You will amount to nothing!’

Professor Pathuri’s words lashed out at Madhuri Mehta all through the senior year she was in his class in medical school. The louder he became, the quieter she got, sometimes forgetting the answers she knew till she had to give them to him.
His words chiseled away at her confidence bit by bit till she shattered and gave up.

‘This is a critical case, Dr. Male, 78, brought in after fainting after a severe headache. Not conscious on arrival…’
The doctor looked at the clipboard
‘…and the family can’t afford the surgery required…’
‘Get him ready for the surgery’ ordered the doctor
‘…but…’
‘Now!’

Dinesh Pathuri felt something tight around his head. The pain is back he winced, before his hand came in contact with the bandage wrapped around.
He turned to see his daughter sleeping on a chair next to his hospital bed. Puzzled, he nudged her awake.
A beaming smile split her tired face into two, ‘You are awake, Papa!’
‘How did I get here?’
‘You fainted in the bathroom, Papa. We rushed you to MediCare Hospital…’
‘MediCare…?’
‘Yes, Papa…’
‘But that is the most expensive hospital in the city. How will we…’
‘The most advanced too. The doctor assured us that your health is more important and operated on you immediately…’
‘…money…?
‘We will see about that, was her answer to us, when we asked her the same…’
‘I want to meet the doctor…’

‘Dr, Patient no 2094 is awake’
‘Professor Pathuri?’
‘Eh? Mr Dinesh Pathuri, Dr. He says he wants to meet you’

‘See to it that he is comfortable and he and his family have everything they need. I will be down as soon as I am done here.’ instructed Dr Madhuri Mehta, MS, Neurosurgeon and owner Medicare Hospital.

For, once she had taken up her studies again and regained her confidence, Madhuri had realized one very important truth,
Revenge may be sweet
But
Forgiveness was Delicious.
